✨Afternoon Watercolors: A Simple Sibling Craft in the Sunshine
There’s something so timeless and grounding about painting outside. The warm breeze, the sound of birds overhead, and little hands dipped in creativity—free to mix, swirl, and explore. This past weekend, we spent one golden afternoon in the backyard with just a few simple supplies and a lot of imagination.
Watching them paint side-by-side—her careful and dreamy, him a little wild and joyful—was a gentle reminder of why we started Roenmi. These slow moments. These shared projects. These tiny sparks of connection that become part of their story.
What We Did
I set out paint brushes, water colors, and paper.
They didn’t need much direction. Just space. Time. A soft place to land their ideas.
Why We Loved It
This activity was simple but gave us so much:
A way to slow down after a busy week
Creative expression that didn’t involve screens
A bonding activity they could do together, side by side
And best of all… we ended up with artwork I actually want to frame
What You’ll Need
We’ll link everything we used below so you can create your own version of a Roenmi Moment—just you, your little ones, and some magic in the air.
Watercolor palette (our favorite [linked])
Watercolor paper or cardstock [linked]
Brushes in different sizes [linked]
Recycled glass jar for water and brushes[linked]
Picnic blanket or drop cloth [linked]
Whether you do this in your backyard, at the park, or even on your front steps, the joy is in the togetherness. Let it be messy. Let it be slow. Let it be whatever your version of beautiful looks like.
Share your watercolor afternoons with us using #RoenmiMoments—we’d love to see what you create. 🌸🎨
